International Islamic University to be Built in Depok, Here's the Concept
The committee and the Development Committee of the International Islamic University of Indonesia (UIII) represented by Deputy Commander-in-Chief Commissioner General Syafruddin as committee chairman and academic Prof. Komaruddin Hidayat as the development committee visited the former RRI land on Jalan Pemancar, Cisalak Subdistrict, Sukmajaya Subdistrict, Depok City, Sunday (17 / 12/2017).
In the land area of about 143 hectares, UIII will be built as a center of Islamic civilization in Indonesia which laying the first stone planned by President Jokowi on Thursday (21/12/2017) future.
Komaruddin Hidayat said that the existence of UIII is very needed in Indonesia where Indonesia as a country with a majority of the population of Muslims and is known for its harmonious and peaceful Islam.

He said all legal basis and process of development plan of UIII have been completed, and only live its implementation which will start end of December 2017.
"The plan to be built first is the Rectorate Building as well as the temporary lecture room, then the special apartment of lecturers and student apartments," he said.
As for the Faculty in UIII later he said there are at least 6 faculty consisting of Economics, History, Education, Politics, Islamic Studies, and Islamic Science.
"But in the early stages, which is expected to begin by the end of 2019, there will be 2 faculties first, this is all done gradually," Komaruddin said.
Later, students at UIII are not only students from within the country but also students from abroad who are Muslims.
"Because this is international, so all Muslim students from any country please study here, including students from Indonesia, so Indonesian students do not have to go out anymore, just study here," he said.
